Where is our Priest? (Hebrews 2:5-18)

We wonder about our life today. There are many temptations, we struggle with sin, and we just feel the incomplete plan of God. We long for glory. We know that Christ has redeemed us, but we wait for glorification. Hebrews assures us that this is our perspective, but we need to see that Christ has subjected all things under his feet. The problem is that we do not see it, and we have a tendency to doubt it. We need to see the bauty and the assurance that our priest resides in heaven.

God Remembers His Promises! (Psalm 51; COD 5 Arts 7,8)

We are warned by those who have gone before us that if we push the boundaries of grace that God might give us the sin that we desire. The Lord might allows us to wallow and to walk in our sin for a time. So, what happens when the Lord snaps us out of our sin? What does David communicate to us about the Lord remembering his promises? How does David's sin, and more importantly, his restoration, teach us about the Gospel?

Are All Things Good? (Romans 8:26-30)

The Lord promises that no matter what we face that God works all things for good. Does this mean that everything that we face as Christians is going to be good? Is this a declaration that sin is so eradicated that there will be no lasting consequence of sin? Does this really mean that all things are good or is the Apostle Paul teaching us something else about our Christian sojourn?

Assurance During Christ’s Absence (Romans 8:34)

We believe that Christ’s entrance into heaven is a good thing. However, how can it be better that Christ is gone rather than Christ is here with us? It would seem better if we could walk into heaven, open the throne room, and look upon Christ. So how can we be assured that Christ’s leaving us is a good thing in the Lord’s redemptive plan?

One Mediator of All? (1 Timothy 2:1-7; LD 18; BC Article 26)

The claim that there is one mediator that we have in Christ seems like a poor arrangement.  We think that it stands to reason that to have more eggs in more baskets provides for us additional security.  So, why would we wantto rest in the one God-Man who resides in the glory of heaven? So, why is it good that we have one mediator?  What does it mean that He is the mediator of all?  Why would we be content with such a mediator?

Why Pray if God is Sovereign? (Romans 8:26 (LD 45)

The Lord is a God who rules over all things.  He is king over the heaven and the earth.  He is the one who orders and controls our destiny.  So, if this is all true then why pray?  It is not like you are going to change the mind of a God whose mind does not change.  It is not like you are going to inform Him of something that He does not already know.  So, why is prayer so necessary and significant for the Christian life?
